Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much does all of this cost?

It varies. Contract work ranges from $100 for something simple like business card design, $500 - $1000 for scripted/recorded/edited short-form videos, to higher rates for long-form videos and full website design. Consulting and coaching is available in packages or based on an hourly rate.

Best thing to do is have a 30-minute intro call, and then we'll provide an estimate so you can think about it before paying a dime.

  • Have you actually built your own brands and businesses?

Yes, quite a few actually! Here are the highlights.

  • Star Wars or Star Trek?

May The Force be with you.

  • Contract Work: What does that include?

Contract work is us actually doing work for you. These are typically individual projects like designing business cards or packages like making a set of social media videos.

  • Consulting: What does that include?

Consulting is a form of contract work where we'd provide insights and feedback on a project basis, like analysing your social media strategy and reporting on ways to improve engagement, but you and your team handle the implementation. This can also include training so you and your team can improve your in-house results on things like video editing for social media.

  • Coaching: What does that include?

Coaching is us being on your side throughout your journey, including regular check-ins and giving recommendations and insights whenever we can. One of the main benefits is that we help keep you accountable to your own goals and block out the noise and shiny objects that cloud your path forward and take up your time.

  • GIF... is it "giff" or "jiff"?

    Jiff all the way

  • Do you teach classes?

That's something we're actively developing! As entrepreneurs who bootstrapped from the beginning, we know that outsourcing everything and getting quality results gets expensive. We're happy to train you and your team on what we've learned so you can improve your own in-house results, like what goes into making a good social media video or how to launch products on Amazon. And if you're not confident in something or want us to handle it, we can always step in as-needed.

  • Can you guarantee my content will go viral?

No, viral videos are honestly kind of hard to make. In many ways it's a numbers game, and you have to post a lot of content hoping that one will take off. However, we've had our fair share of viral videos and have learned a lot about the factors that help improve your odds of success, like the hook, transitions, emotional connection, crisp audio, and clean editing. We'll look at your existing content to see if our techniques might be able to measurably improve your results.

  • How long does it take to see results from organic content?

It varies. Short-form videos on social media that go viral typically start gaining momentum anywhere from 1-7 days after posting. This lasts from a few days up to a few months (depending on the platform). Long-form videos on YouTube can take longer, often ramping up over the course of months (the more established the channel, the faster the videos start out). Blog posts with great SEO and readibility typically take 2-6 months before they truly start ranking. AI?...we're still figuring out that one, but the other types of content and searches are still very effective at gaining organic customers.

  • Do you help source products, including from overseas?

Yes, we have done with a range of products. This includes sourcing primarily from China, but also India and within the United States. Materials include plastic (injection molds), ceramics, stainless steel, leather, and wood.

  • Are you able to help with prototyping?

Yes, we love prototyping! We have a small 3d printer, laser cutter, and some other tooling for light-duty mockups. We can also do basic 3D modeling, though we would outsource this to a professional CAD designer for anything more advanced or when it's ready for manufacturing.

  • Do you help with patents?

We are not patent lawyers and do not provide official recommendations from a legal standpoint. However, we can give you our honest opinions about whether a patent (or other intellectual property) would be good for you to pursue or if it may be a waste of time and money.

  • Do you help with business formation, accounting, or legal questions?

Officially no on all three, but we can give our unofficial recommendations based on what's worked for us or recommend you to someone else for specific needs.

  • Pineapple on pizza?

An absolute and unapologetic yes from me.
